You have the power to change how you feel. No one

else can change the way you feel except for you.

Don't wait for other people to treat you differently

or give you what you want so that you can feel better.

Sometimes other people don't know how you are

really feeling, or what you want and need. That's why

it's important that you look after your feelings

yourself. If you don't feel good then it's up to you

to do what you need to, so that you do feel good.

There is no right or wrong way to feel. It's ok to feel unhappy

when you are hurting, just as it is ok to feel happy when you

are having fun. The only difference is, life is more fun for you if

you feel good and are happy. There will always be things that

happen in your life that hurt you. That's why learning some

positive ways of facing your challenges and managing your

feelings can be really helpful.

If you are experiencing an unhappy feeling like

sadness, anger, fear, worry or hurt there are

things that you can do to feel better. Never be

afraid to ask for help when you need it. Remember

that no one knows exactly how you are feeling

unless you tell them. Keep looking for help and

asking for help until you get the support you need. There is always someone who can help you.

Under the "How Do You Feel?" section on the "Supporting You"

page you will find helpful ways to understand and manage

your feelings. Sometimes you will feel better straight away, and

other times it may take days or even weeks. The important thing

to remember is that you always have a say in how you feel and

you can always choose to try to change how you feel.

Always be patient and understanding with

yourself. If you are doing something that

should make you feel better but it doesn't

seem to be working, remember the two P's.
